Our Investment in Redbooth: Helping the Enterprise #Worksmarter

“Unlike the ugly UI and expense typical of enterprise software, Redbooth is simple, beautiful and affordable. It’s easy easy to use, easy to understand, cheerful and economical. Truly the next generation of collaboration software.”
– Rich Levandov

Redbooth is a collaborative communication platform that provides a single place for shared tasks, file sharing, group chat and HD video conferencing. When we came across the company, then known as TeamBox, they were a perfect match for our investment thesis on changing enterprise needs. From our first conversations, it was clear that both of our underlying assumptions were in line.

Today we congratulate the Redbooth team as they recently closed their Series B raise of $11 million — a round which we were enthusiastic to participate in. In the past year, since we took part in Redbooth’s Series A, the Redbooth team has proven time and again that they can deliver to the resounding reception of market validation.

Half a million teams in 100+ countries now rely on Redbooth to get more work done every day and there’s good reason for that. The way people collaborate begets other forms of software that need to connect the way people work. From Yahoo, to Evernote, Gmail, to Dropbox and beyond, Redbooth employs an “embrace and extend” philosophy so you can use whichever productivity tool you prefer together with your team for seamless real-time collaboration on a single platform.

Perhaps the most compelling piece of Redbooth’s equation from our point of view, was access to the tools customers prefer along with Redbooth’s impressive offering on a singular platform to the effect of dramatically increasing productivity.

As Venture Beat said in their response to Redbooth’s Series B announcement, “…part of the appeal of Redbooth is its wide portfolio, which features file storage, chat, high-definition video conferencing, and project management tools — for a price that won’t make a company bankrupt.” And we couldn’t agree more. Unlike the ugly UI and expense typical of enterprise software, Redbooth is simple, beautiful and affordable. It’s easy easy to use, easy to understand, cheerful and economical. It is truly the next generation of collaboration software.
Redbooth has already gained significant traction with enterprise customers, including GE, Avis, US Airways, Dell, Warner Bros., and Novartis, to name a few. Thanks in no small part to the release of enterprise chat which contributed to a 6x increase in user engagement since its launch last month.

What Redbooth offers is simple; let people use the tools they like to use and allow them work together. A simple solution, powerfully changing the way the enterprise functions around the globe. We could not be more proud of what they’ve accomplished thus far and look toward exciting developments in the new year.
